Creating a Cozy Farmhouse-Chic Quilt

Happy Saturday!

I hope you’ve had a wonderful week. These weeks seem to be flying by lately, don’t they?

Today I’m sharing a quilt that I actually finished several months ago. I love how it turned out, and I realized I never wrote a post about it — so today felt like the perfect time.

This quilt is from the book Barn Star Sampler by Shelly Cavanna. I absolutely love the photography and the colors in this book. It’s one of those books that feels inspiring the moment you open it. The directions were clear, and the project moved steadily along from start to finish.

The fabrics for my quilt came from several different quilt shops. I picked them up during one of the quilt hops we did, choosing pieces that caught my eye along the way. I love how they all came together, and honestly, I wouldn’t mind making another one of these quilts someday.

As I was working on this quilt, I kept noticing how beautifully the barn‑style design fit the farmhouse‑chic look I have going in my home. The star blocks, the crisp lines, and the mix of colors all echo that cozy, rustic charm I love so much. It feels like a quilt that belongs here — warm, welcoming, and full of that simple, timeless style that makes a house feel lived‑in and loved.

Looking back, this has probably been one of my most favorite quilt projects. There was something about the colors, the pattern, and the whole process that made it especially enjoyable.

Has one of your quilt projects ever matched your home’s style or personality in a surprising way? I’d love to hear about it.

Happy Sewing,

Valerie
