Happy Saturday-
I don’t know about you but fall starts my favorite time of the year. I don’t know what I like the most. Is it the colors of fall? Or is the leaves, pumpkins, corn mazes and football playing all day. What ever the reason, to me it is the best time of the year.
I have already decorated my home for the season but I wanted some pillows. The pillows shown are in two different sizes. The first is about 16 inches squares and the 2nd one is 14.5 squared. Pillows are so versatile because you can make them any shape or size that you want.
Supplies Needed –
- 2- 17×17 fabric (You can also make it a rectangle, heart shape or many other options)
- embroidery design (optional)
- thread
Directions –
- Cut the fabric to the size of the pillow
- Embroidery the design on the right side of the fabric
- Sew the seams at 5/8 seam but leave opening at the bottom of the pillow. The opening needs to be large enough for you to put your hand inside to stuff those corners.
- Once you have stuffed the corners, and the pillow itself has been stuffed to your liking. Utilize the machine to stitch down the seams. You can also hand sew the opening closed.
The embroidery designs were purchased off Etsy and Embroidery Library. Both of the designs stitched out beautifully and I would definitely utilize their designs again. I purchased the pumpkin truck from countrySBSdesigns and the barn design from Embroidery Library. The Embroidery Library is one of my favorite places to look for designs.
The filling from the pillow was from Poly-fil. I like using this product because it holds up well after being washed. I use the fill instead of the premade pillow forms so I can stuff the corners.
Let me know what projects you are doing to bring in the fall season.
I love hearing from my readers.
