Here is the review of my latest sewing project. I will post a picture later on me wearing the dress.
This is a princess seamed dress which would be suitable for all sizes. I chose to put a flounce in the sleeves and a v-neck for the top. One thing that I had wished that I had done was cut the pattern with muslin fabric and sew it to check the fitting. I believe that I would have come out with a better finish. Simplicity actually did recommend it in the pattern.

This pattern is excellent with fitting. I really appreciate the Simplicity having several different sizes for the bodice front and for the skirt back. This helped tailor the dress to me. Did the dress actually look like the drawing on the pattern envelope ? Yes it did.
The one issue that I had was the bottom of the sleeve was larger than the flounce. in order to have the sleeve fit the flounce, I did a gathering stitch on the bottom. I was able them to slightly gather the fabric until I was able to match the flounce.
The fabric was purchased from Joanns. It is a polyester fabric. it sewed beautifully together and I would definitely see this again.

Let me know what you have been seeing this summer.
Happy Sewing!
