Happy Saturday –
Who doesn’t like free stuff? I know I love to find free resources for sewing. Here are some of my recommendations.
- The Library – at the time of this post some of our libraries are closed or their hours are limited due to COVID-19 but you can download books. Our library uses Hoopla. These books can be downloaded to a Kindle or any other electronic device. One perk of using the library downloads, it is automatically returned when it becomes due.
- Classes from where you purchased your sewing machine. I purchased my sewing machine from the Viking Sewing Galley at Joann’s and I attended multiple classes. There were projects that I made that I never used but I learned different techniques. When you are in a sewing class, you can learn from your fellow class mates. I got so many tips when sitting in those classes. The costs is usually just your supplies for the class.
- There are multiple websites that have free patterns. There is Mood Fabric, All Free Sewing an SewingSupport.com
- You Tube has so many tutorials and Vloggers give you multiple tips and ideas.
- Let people know that you sew. You will probably end up with multiple tools and fabric. I have been given rulers, quilt fabric, elastic, therad and patterns.
Let me know some of your to save money while continuing to improve your skills.
