How to Embroider Towels

Happy Sunday!

We are definitely getting into the busy months for sewing. This weekend, I attended a 3 day software seminar on the Premier+ 2 Embroidery.  It was a great class.   I did learn but definitely would not be considered an expert.  The instructor stated multiple times that you would get better with Practice, Practice and Practice.  Isn’t that statement true for just about everything?

This week, I decided to show you how to embroider towels.  This is a great wedding shower gift.   When I got my embroidery machine, this is the first thing that I “tried” to do.  I made many mistakes so I am hoping these tips will keep you from making the same.

Items needed –

Water Soluble Stabilizer , marking pen and of course a towel!

I like using a medal hoop to do the embroidery. This is so much easier than trying to hoop the towel.

1. Mark the middle of the towel with a Mark B Gone pen.

2. Place the towel on the hoop and also cut out a piece of the stabilizer. As you can see from the picture, the stabilizer goes on top of the towel.  This is the most important step. If you don’t use the stabilizer, your stitches will go down into the towel and will not be visible.

3. Prior to making the first stitch, double-check to make sure you have the correct needle, the machine is threaded correctly, confirm that there is no part of the towel under the hoop and the towel is evenly placed on the hoop.

What gifts do you sew for a bridal shower?
