Happy Saturday!
Yes, you can hem dress pants. Our family is vertically challenged, so I have hemmed a lot of pants. It is easy method that will give you professional results. Here are the steps that I use, let me know if you do something different.
- I mark the pants where I want the actual hemline.

2. I mark a 2nd line, 1 1/2 inches from the original mark and then cut the fabric on that line.

3. Go ahead and use your serger, the zig zag stitch on your machine or pinking shears to finish the hemline. Turn the pants inside out and fold up the hem 1 1/2 inches, press and then stitch a blind hem.

4. Turn the pants right side out, use a press cloth and a tailor’s clapper to get a crisp hem. Great Job! You have just hemmed a pair of pants.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions or comments. Look forward to hearing from you.
