Happy Saturday,
Hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas. It amazing how quickly Christmas comes and goes and now 2025 is right around the corner. At this time of year, I think about 2024 the successes and the failures. Then I make my new goals for 2025.
Yes, I know there are many folks who think making goals for the New Year is foolish. They believe it is a waste of time. Do I make all my goals? No but I made progress and come very close. This is so much better than making no goals and come to the end of the year with no accomplishments.
How do I set my goals?

First, I usually take a pencil, a notebook, and my calendar. I find a quiet place to think about what I want to achieve in 2025. I have several categories and then set the goals for each one. My categories are usually spiritual goals, family and friend goals, financial, health goals, home improvement, reading and my sewing goals.
Once, my ideals are on paper. I review to make sure that they are reasonable. This year, I will be breaking them down by quarter. In years past, I wrote the goals and looked at them throughout the year. Nonetheless, there was no clear plan to reach the goals. I believe that if I set them at quarterly goals, it will be easier to make the yearly goals. I read the book, The 12 Week Year. I realized how this method is much better. It’s more effective than trying to shoot aimlessly and hoping that I make it.

Next, I set up a basic schedule for the week. This schedule can be modified each week depending on the events occurring in my life. This schedule will help give me a rhythm for my day. It will also help me to stay focused on my goals.
Everything is written out with pencil. Life changes so fast. Now I have a plan that can help direct my course for 2025.
Does anyone else set goals for the New Year? What are your goals for 2025 and how are you planning to achieve them?
Happy Sewing,
Valerie
