Combing Two Patterns

Happy Saturday,

Did you ever look at a pattern and say well I like the top but I want the sleeves to be different? Well ,I finally decided to do something about it. I have combined two simplicity patterns to make one blouse. I have taken simplicity pattern 8523 and simplicity pattern 8601 and combined them.

The sleeves are definitely a little tricky. I have already pulled out the seam ripper to take out the flounce. Unfortunately. I sewed it together at the wrong ends. It obviously was not matching up to the bottom of the sleeve🙄.

The flounce for the sleeve did require some manipulating to have everything match up. I pinned the sleeves in several spots so there was no excess fabric at the end. Here is the sleeve with the flounce attached. Be careful when using the server because the flounce can get caught up in the stitching. Once the sleeves were basting in, I went back and serge for a professional look.

The last thing that I needed to do was hem the bottom of the blouse. I trully love combining two patterns together. You will notice that I used two different Simplicity patterns which will be alot easier to bring together.

Let me know if you have combined patterns together to get the look you desire.

Here is the final look.

Happy sewing !

Valerie
