Happy Saturday –
Hope you have had a wonderful weekend. Just attended our Ladies Conference this weekend at our church. Great turn out several churches in the area attend the event. I have to admit these last several weeks have been so busy with helping with wedding flowers, putting a paver deck by our pool and a gender reveal for my son. I realized that I never posted about the completion of my Easter dress.
We had a couple minor setbacks. The lapped zipper was a challenge for two reasons. One I rarely put in the lapped zipper and the 2nd is that the zipper was 22 inches long. I followed the instructions of pressing the 5/8 edge on the left and 1/2 inch on the right.

Several times the zipper was not going in straight on the left side. I had to stop take out the stitches, measure, repress the seam and start the stitching again. It was easier to stop and fix it when I felt it was not straight, then just charging thru and then ripping everything back out.
The fabric was also slippery, so I sprayed starch on the fabric and pressed it into the fabric to help keep it in place. This helped with the zipper and also putting in the hem of the dress.
I am very happy with the results of the dress. Below is a picture of the finished product. Let me know if you have any tips dealing with the lapped zipper.

Happy Sewing!
