Happy New Year –
Hope you have had a wonderful start for your New Year. I love the ability to start fresh and set goals for the New Year. Every New Years Day, I set personal and sewing goals while also reviewing the accomplishments for the past year.
Honestly, my biggest sewing accomplishment for last year was the Denim Jacket. I have thoroughly enjoyed wearing it. We are in Florida, so the temperature fluctuates during the winter, so the jacket is perfect during our “winter” season. It is easy to dress up or go for a casual look.

My goal in a sewing project this year will be making a mother of the bride dress. My daughter will be getting married in June, and she is using black in her wedding. It will be stunning. I love wearing black and looking forward to making the dress. Right now, I am searchig for the pattern so then I can decide on fabric.
My 2nd goal for this year is to improve fitting and find more time for sewing. We spend a lot of time in the sewing room, so I don’t want to waste the fabric or the time when the project does not fit. I have decided that I will further my skills by reading books and by watching the you tube videos. If I find a class, will take advantage of it if it works with my schedule.
I have recently been watching You Tubers Pattern Sout. She is self-taught in fitting from reading books from the library and then if she feels that she continues to need the book, she will purchase the book. If you have not heard of her, I would definitely start watching her videos.
Let me know what your goals for our sewing. Do you have any recommendations for books in fitting? Or do you have a significant event and you are going to sew your outfit. As always, I love hearing from my readers.
Happy Sewing,
Valeire
