Hello Friends –
Hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas. We were able to spend Christmas eve with mom, playing games and of course eating. Then on Christmas day we enjoyed hosting our children and our first grandchild. Yesterday was a wonderful day filled with a lot of laughter and memories.
The Jordan Jacket is now officially done. I love it. It is extremely comfortable to wear and i love the shorter sleeves.

The hardest part was definitely the cuffs with plackets. It was a struggle with some frustrating moments and almost tears. The pattern was not very clear to me on how to how to sew them into the sleeves. I had to take them out three times before I understood how to put them in the sleeve. I realized it needs to be folded twice. Each fold must be exactly at a 1/4 inch. Only then does it have the finished look.

The buttons and the buttonholes were much easier. Laid the jacket out on the table. Used the buttonhole spacer tool. Pulled out for 6 buttons. Started from the top and ended at the bottom of the jacket. Marked the buttons with the marking pen and the buttons and the buttonholes matched up perfectly. This tool saves so much time.
Yes, I will definitely make this pattern again but before I started sewing, I would serge all the pattern pieces. This way all the edges are finished. Using denim fabric on this jacket was very helpful due to ripping out several seams on this jacket. I was very concerned with the fabric being damaged after ripping out the seams. Once, I washed the jacket, you not see the earlier seams.
Let me know your favorite denim jackets that you have sewn. Any tips that you have learned when putting in cuffs with plackets. I love hearing from my readers.
Happy Sewing,
Valerie
