We are starting a fun project and a first for me. As you know, I am now a proud “GiGi”. We are going to make ruffle panties to wear. Since we are in the “Fall”, the colors are going to reflect the season. If only the Florida weather would cooperate, with fall temperatures.
The pattern is from Butterick B6935, of course picked up when JoAnns’s had their pattern sale. The ruffles on the back of the panties was so feminine. The cotton fabric was chosen because of the colors, and it has a retro look. It was something that I had in my stash so there was no cost except for the pattern.
I actually picked up two of the patterns because it easier to cut out a bigger size than it is to tape the pieces back together. The pattern has sizes from XS -L. The individual working the register kept asking me why I got two patterns. Explained that a 1.99 it is easier to have the pattern in two sizes then manipulate the pattern to accommodate the sizes.

The pattern was very easy to put together and it was an afternoon project. They turned out so cute. The pattern does run big so she hasn’t been able to wear them as yet. The biggest challenge was running the elastic around the legs. The small safety pin kept getting stuck. I am thinking about doing another pair for Christmas.

Let me know if you have some tips on running the elastic thru the legs. Normally, I am working on flat pieces of fabric, but this was completely made and then you added the elastic.
Happy Sewing –
