We are expecting a granddaughter in August, and we are so excited. This of course gives me another excuse to sew not that I needed one.
This is going to be a new project for me because the bear will be in minky fleece. I have worked once using this fabric, but it was a back of a back of a baby’s blanket that did not require any quilting. This will be an interesting project for me while working with the fleece.

The fabric was purchased at Hobby Lobby and the name of the cotton fabric is Watercolor Rose. It seems so fitting for a baby girl’s room. My plan is to use the cotton on the tummy and ears. The belly will be embroidered with her first initial. We are also using the floral fabric as her curtains and a friend is making her baby quilt. Her room will be so coordinated.
Let me know if you have any tips on sewing with minky fleece and I of course will let you know what I have learned. At this point, I have already seen that the fabric does shed so I am going throw it in to the dryer to see if this will help.
Let me know if you have any tips. As always, I love to hear from my readers.
Happy Saturday!
