Happy Saturday –
This week has been crazy balancing work, personal life and then of course my passion for sewing. I am currently making a pair of culottes and should have them completed today. Do you ever get frustrated with buying fabric online? I know that I do.
My favorite way to buy fabric is to go into the store and touch everything. This helps me to determine the weight and how it will feel while wearing it. I call this process, “fabric therapy.” Unfortunately, I am not able to do this all the time. It could be due to time, or the local stores does not have enough variety of fabrics to choose from.
Personally, I have not had a lot of success with purchasing apparel fabric online. Often what I believe that I am getting and what I receive is two different things. There is a solution.
Fabric Mart every year Julies Picks which is open to the first 500 members. They send you every month at least 30 pieces for you to see and touch. I joined at the end of December, and I have received 3 months of swatches. I love it! You get to see the fabric and touch it so you know exactly what you will be getting. I found my fabric for my Easter Dress and will be ordering from the March Swatches.

The 2022 Swatch Club is sold out, but I would recommend this for anyone who is sewing. They have a great selection of fabric and very reasonably priced and the shipping is also reasonable.
Let me know of tips that you have for shopping online.
Happy Sewing!
