Happy Sewing –
Due to renovating my sewing room, found this fabric in my stash. It is a knit and the color is so vibrant. Unfortunately, I do not recall where I purchased it. The New Look Pattern has been in the sewing stash for a while so the only thing that needed was the invisible zipper.
The pattern was not difficult at all. The shoulders taken in to help with the fitting in the front. Two issues came up. I had to run and get a zipper from JoAnn’s so took a scrap of fabric to the store. Matched it up and took it home only to find out it really did not match. It had to be yellow lighting in the store. Good news is that it is invisible so barely visible. The color provided a little bit of creativity. (Well, that is the story that I am going with
😊)

The biggest problem that I had was getting the invisible zipper was for it not to bubble at the bottom. Taking
out the zipper was not the answer. The fabric is a little temperamental and was concerned of putting a hole in it. To remedy the issue, I cut out interfacing and pressed into the seam allowance to give the zipper more support. Lined up the zipper foot and put the needle all the way to the right and stitched fromthe bottom of the zipper to connect to the previous stitching. Finally, the bubble was gone.
If I do this pattern again, I will interface seam allowance before putting in an invisible zipper. This would have saved time in creating the dress. Let me know if you have any tips on the invisible zipper. I have put in invisible zippers before, but this was the first time that I had such an issue. It may have been the knit fabric.
Let me know of your tips. I am overall happy with the look.

Happy Sewing!
