I just want to discuss the advantages of sewing over buying your clothes in the store.’
- Clothes will fit better. You can customize the outfit to accommodate your size. It is very frustrating when you are petite, and everything is too long such as sleeves, the top length and the dresses.
- You have more choices in colors and designs and are not limited to what a store has in stock. You can purchase the fabric, pick the style that fits your body type and style. I prefer a comfortable and casual wear.
- You will become more creative. If you allow it, it can push you further into new skills that you never knew were possible and improve your confidence. Every time that you accomplish something new that pushes your skills, I believe that will flow over to other areas in your life.
- It can save your money. You can make a quality garment, usually 1/2 of what it retails in the store.
- Spending time on an activity that you enjoy, can improve your mental health. This can reduce stress, low moods and provide a sense of accomplishment.
