Happy Saturday! Hope you are staying warm. One of my favorite past times besides sewing is to read. My favorite books to read are about everyday people that overcoming obstacles. Always rooting for the “underdog”. I just recently read the book, How to Stitch an American Dream written by Jenny Doan and Mark Dagostino.
You do not have to sew or quilt to enjoy this book. This book is inspirational and so down to earth. I felt that I was sitting at the table just talking to Jenny as she spoke about the many ups and downs of her life. She approaches life with fun and kindness to her family, neighbors and friends even when money is tight and not sure how the bills will be paid.
If you are not familiar with Jenny Doan. She is the co-founder the Missouri Quilt Company with her children. This business brought life to their small town and is continuing to grow rapidly. She is known for her quilting videos that have taught thousands if not millions on how to quilt. People travel from all parts of their world to visit her shops or attend their workshops. This book covers her humble beginnings of being a wife and a mother of 7 kids.

I would definitely recommend that you read this book. You will be inspired, laugh and cry as you read thru these adventures. I felt so inspired that no matter where you are at and what you have been thru that you can succeed.
Have you ready any interesting books this year?
Valerie
