Patriotic Apron

Happy Saturday –

With Memorial and July 4th around the corner, I wanted to  show a quick and fun patriotic project.  As you can see the pattern is from “Sewing for Dummies” which is a great pattern for novice or it could be a quick gift.  These can be fun when there is so much going on with weddings, graduations and the end of the school year.

The fabric was purchased from JoAnn’s last year.  This store has really improved in their quilting fabric.  They have a nice assortment of holiday materials.  You need to check it out especially when they have an awesome sale.  On this project, I did keep the choices of fabrics simple  because I am hoping to get the husband to wear it.

The embroidery is from the Premier Software.  I added red stitches around the apron  to for additional detail.  The only modification was the neck strap was shortened.  It was  to long for us short people.

Are you working on any patriotic projects?  Have you been sewing for graduations or weddings?  Let me know some of the gifts that you have sewn.  I believe that a gift that is sewn well with great choices of fabrics can be really enjoyed by the receiver.
