Happy Saturday –
Have you every made a mistake when sewing? I have made so many that it is quite humorous. Here are some of my crazy mistakes —
- Cut out a pair of pajamas and realized that I cut the fabric in the wrong directions so the penguins were upside down. Those pajamas ended up being my kids favorite because it made us a laugh every time it was worn.
- Hemed a skirt by hand and realized that I sewed the fabric to my outfit.
- Completed the top layer of the quilt and decided to square it off. I used my husband’s red chalk line. The quilt was squared up but I never got the red line out.
- Volunteered to embroidery work shirts for my husbands job, the machine jammed so I used a stitch eraser to take out the embroidery and put a hole in the shirt. I bought a patch and finished the embroidery. The crazy thing is they actually asked me to embroidery the next batch.
- Embroidered a complicated design on a t-shirt and realized that half of the shirt was under the design.
The list could go on and on. The reason that I am pointing out my mistakes is to let you know that everyone makes mistakes. Most of the mistakes you make, will never be seen by others.
If you make a mistake (which you will), there is always a seam ripper. It is also an opportunity to be creative but not a knock on your abilities.
Let me know of some of your mistakes…
