Happy Saturday!
Today in Florida, it is 75 degrees but tomorrow our high is only 56. For us Floridians, it is cold but it is nothing to compare with the storm coming across the Northeast. If you are in that area, be careful and stay warm. We only have a couple of weeks of cold weather so this coat should be perfect.
The unlined coat pattern is from Simplicity 1067. The fabric is fleece was purchased from JoAnn’s. The fabric was on sale last week at 60%, JoAnn’s always has sales but the fleece was at an exceptional price.
In effort to add some design to the coat, I embroidered the pockets. The embroidery design is from Premier 2 Software. When embroidering on fleece, you need to use a stabilizer on top of the fabric so the stitches will be on top of the fleece and not sink down into the fabric.
When pressing out the seams, you need to make sure that the iron is at the right temperature. I slightly singed the fabric but lucky for me, it was on the inside of the coat and unnoticeable.
Let me know of what coats that you have sewn. Stay warm this weekend.
