Machine Embroidery Wall Hanging Project

img_0677

Happy Saturday,

We are finally getting back into routine since the holidays.  I hope you have made some sewing goals for 2019.  This year, I am really  pushing to do projects that I have not done before.

I have used machine embroidery for bags and clothes but this time I am using it as a wall hanging.  The embroidery design is from embroidery library.  The vintage embroidery design matches the décor in my home.  The background fabric was muslin which seemed appropriate for this design.

Once the design was stitched out, I ironed it flat and clipped any stray threads.  I had considered buying a glass frame but instead picked up a canvas from Joann’s.   The fabric was tacked to the back of the frame by a staple gun.

The excess fabric was trimmed of the back.  The project only cost me about $5.00 with the embroidery design.  It was a quick project and a great way to use up some of my fabric stash.

Let me know of  sewing projects that you are doing to spruce up your home.

Valerie
