Fleece Vest

Happy Saturday –

Joann’s had a sale on fleece so it was a good reason to make a casual vest.  The pattern was  McCall’s M7695.

When working with plaid, you really want to line up the design.    Since the plaid was  large,  it was fairly easy to match the pattern.  A great tip when trying to match patterns, is to buy little extra fabric.

As you can see below, that before I sewed in the zipper, I checked to make sure that the pattern was still lining up.  Sometimes, just moving the zipper up or down a little, makes the difference of getting everything to line up

The lining was also purchased at JoAnn’s.  The polka dot print was fun way to line the inside of the jacket.  While sewing near the zipper, I used the zipper foot.  This really help keep me from breaking needles.

What are you sewing with the fleece?  I believe my next project will be coat.
