Happy Saturday –
I am starting to work on my Fall wardrobe, really looking forward to wearing this. Unfortunately in Florida, it still feels like summer. Hopefully, we will start to cool off in the next couple of weeks.
I have had other sewers tell me, that sewing a blouse is too much work and it is easier to buy. I can see their point but I have such a hard time finding ready-made clothes that actually fit.
If you have been leery of sewing a blouse, this is a good one to start with. You have to start somewhere. This blouse was very simple and not time-consuming. There are no buttons or zippers. The pattern was easy to follow and easily came together. I did take in the sides of the blouse to reduce some of the bulk but the shirt is designed to be loose.
The fabric was purchased from Fabric Mart Fabrics. I really enjoyed shopping at the store. I still have fabric from my shopping trip last October. When I shop for fabric, I like to touch it before I buy it. I am going to try out their Swatch Club for one month. They send out 30 swatches each month. This will definitely give you lots of choices and I have the benefit of feeling the fabric.
What projects are you sewing for the fall?
