Finally, got to do a little sewing for me. This summer has been so busy with college kids home.
I had this fabric in my stash for almost a year. I purchased it at Fabric Mart Fabrics. It was a spring/summer knit and it was on sale for $1.99 a yard. I just had to buy it. Who can pass up the fabric, when the price is at amazing savings? Did I have a plan on how I was going to use it? No, but just added it my ever growing stash
Yes, I am one of them with so much fabric in my sewing cabinet but still will go to Joann’s just to make sure that I am not missing anything. I saw a quote on Pinterest which does describe me a little too well. My problem isn’t that I by too much fabric. My problem is that I shop faster than I sew!
Maxi skirts are so easy to make, especially if you own a serger. The pattern has just three pieces. The front and back pieces for the skirt and the waistband. The waistband is too wide for me, so I cut the width of the band in half. The skirt took about 1 1/2 hours to make. I hemmed the skirt using the narrow hem foot on the sewing machine.
Will I use the pattern again? Definitely, as long as maxi skirts stay fashionable. These skirts are soo comfortable in the summer.
What is your favorite summer skirt?

Love that line about shopping faster than you sew, my husband laughed as well.
Just to let you know, when those college kids go to their own homes, you’ll have ROOMS to store your stash! (Ask me how I know)
