My daughter wanted to add length to her dress and the lining. The lining was easy by adding black lycra fabric.
We initially tried lace for the top layer. I love how lace is now back in style. We bought two yards to go around the hem. It didn’t look like right. The dress had a handmade look.
We took the lace back off with my most used tool the ‘seam ripper” and headed back to Joanns. This time we bought ribbon and made sure that it was washable.
The dress turned out beautiful. Just finding the right trim really added a lot to the dress.
Sometimes while sewing things don’t turn out the way it is expected. You always have the ability to take out the stitches and try a different avenue.
Thanks,
Valerie
