I finally completed my denim dress. The fabric was purchased at Fabric Mart Fabrics. The pattern actually came with the fabric. It is a lightweight denim, so it will be comfortable for the summer in Florida. The dress has a princess seam bodice, in seam pockets and a slightly gathered skirt.
The pattern directions were easy to follow. It was easy to get the dress to fit well. The gathering foot was used to set the gathers for the skirt. The serger was used to finish the seams. I used a top stitch at the neck to give a more finished look. I varied the dress slightly from the pattern. I made smaller tabs at the waistline for the front of the dress and I also cut the back pieces to add some variation.
