Lattice Quilt

Happy Saturday!

Here is my newest project.  I am currently working on a Lattice Quilt.  I absolutely love it.  I am using the pattern from the book, “Fat Quarter Style”.  I picked up the variations of the blue fabric on the North Florida Shop Hop.  Just a side note, these shop hops are so much fun.  I know, I bought fabric at just about each shop. Grab a friend and jump to store to store .

Back to the quilt, as you can see, I have not quilted this blanket.  At this present time, I do not have a long arm machine so I will be stitching in the ditch.  I am also considering an embroidery design in the middle of each square.

It was very easy to put together.  I utilized my 1/4 inch foot on machine to do the stitching.  The foot helped my seams to be more accurate.  Remember you need to press out the seams.  It will make a big difference on how the overall quilt will look.

The cutting to achieve the “lattice look” was so easy.    I utilized my marking pen to draw a line from one corner to the other.  Depending on which square I was making, I would stitch on the line or 1/4 inch from the line.   I felt this book would be a great project for anyone, at any stage of their sewing skills.

I hope to have it quilted this weekend. The quilt will look so nice on my couch for the Spring & Summer.  What are you working on?
