I enjoy the entire process of sewing. It is so much fun to go shopping and pick my fabric. I enjoy talking to associates at the quilt store or at Joann’s and discussing the numerous possibilities. When I get home, I open up my fabric haul and show my husband. He tries to be impressed. Once I have the fabric laundered, I will cut it out, pin and put it together. Not every one of my creations have been absolutely beautiful or perfect. I can say that every time I sit behind the machine I have learned something new.
It is my therapy. I have found that if the day is not going as plan, to head over to the nearest fabric store. Often, I will go in the store and just start touching the fabrics and dreaming up new projects. Sometimes, I leave with fabric and sometimes I don’t. I always leave with a better outlook.
It is a way to be creative. Sewing gives me the ability to make the projects the way I want. I get to pick the colors and the designs to match my taste.
My clothes fit better. I can take the garment in and make it smaller or let out the seams, if needed. I don’t have to be concerned with someone showing up with the exact same outfit. My clothes are my originals.
I am hoping with this blog to show my love and compassion for sewing while continuing on this creative journey. Come join me.
